Adjectives and adverbs comparison.

I.Read and translate the following sentences.

1.The new cinema in our district is much bigger than the old one. 2.He is one of the most dangerous criminals in the world. 3.Nevsky Prospect is much more beautiful than our street. 4.Our house isn’t as big as yours. 5.That’s the funniest story I’ve ever heard. 6.The tram system isn’t as reliable as it used to be. 7.You are taller than me. 8.We started earlier than you. 9.He was more careful than I. 10.This student is the most attentive in our group. 11.I need a warmer coat. 12.He is as tired as you. 13.He was one of the most experienced workers at the plant. 14.Better late than never. 15.She was not so attractive as her mother. 16.His work is not so difficult as mine. 17.He was the eldest in the family. 18.It is easier to swim in the sea than in the river. 19.She is the youngest engineer in our office.

II.Combine sentences using as...As, not as (not so) ... As, more (less) .... Than.

III.Combine sentences according to the given model:

Anna (old) Jane. – Anna is older than Jane.

IV.Open the brackets using the necessary form of the adjective.
